Refugee Week 2023

This week marks the annual Refugee Week, which seeks to build connections between people from different backgrounds and foster a greater understanding of the challenges faced by displaced people. We have welcomed refugees from around the world to study at our College over the years and I am proud of the inclusive environment we have created. Most recently, a number of students from Ukraine have joined our learning community. Our Sixth Form students can choose to study Ukrainian Literature as part of their International Baccalaureate (IB) programme to develop their understanding of the country’s culture and language.

The IB Learner Profile also helps our students to develop a sense of responsibility and respect for themselves, others and the world around them, which I see exemplified on a daily basis within our learning community.

Calling future Sixth Form students!

It seems like only yesterday that we welcomed the current cohort of Year 12 students to Impington International College for the first time – I can’t believe that it’s almost time for our next cohort of students to join us!

Students looking to enrol at our Sixth Form in September are invited to join us at our Offer Holders’ Day on 28 June. The day will provide students with the opportunity to speak with their IB teachers, current students and prepare for the start of their IB journey with us. If your child(ren) is/are joining our Sixth Form in September, register for their spot and complete their subject form.

The Offer Holders’ Day is for students only, however, if parents/guardians have any questions or queries, please contact us on .

Welcoming our next cohort of Year 7 students

The transition from Year 6 to Year 7 can be daunting for students, and that’s why we have a robust transition support programme in place to ease any concerns that students may have. Next week, I am looking forward to welcoming Year 6 students joining us in September to the College for their Transition Days. The students will have the opportunity to experience life at the College prior to joining us full time, and will engage in a range of lesson taster sessions and team building activities.

If your child is joining us in Year 7 and you have any questions, please email and a member of staff will respond as quickly as possible.

Explore our past, present and future

I am pleased to share that the College will once again be taking part in this year’s Histon and Impington Feast Week. Visitors from the local community are invited to join us at the College on 7 July for our Past, Present and Future showcase, which will provide the opportunity to hear more about the history of the College and learn about our current and future plans. You will also have the chance to meet members of our Senior Leadership Team and explore some of our world-famous Gropius architecture.

Attendance is free, but booking is required. Secure your place now.

Support our award winning musical alumnus

In 2022, the entire College community celebrated when former student, Jordan Ashman, won the prestigious BBC Young Musician of the Year. I am pleased to share that on 1 September, Jordan will be staging a local performance, where he will be playing an eclectic mix of percussion – including marimba, vibraphone and drums.

Jordan really is an exceptional talent and I can’t recommend watching him perform enough. If you’d like to attend his showcase, book your tickets.
