Here you can find information about the different courses offered at Impington International College.
IB Diploma Courses
Students studying the IBDP select ONE subject from each Group. THREE of these subjects are studied at Higher Level and THREE at Standard Level. All subjects are offered at Higher or Standard Level, unless indicated.
Students also have lessons in Theory of Knowledge, undertake Creativity, Activity & Service and have supervisions for their Extended Essay.
Group 1: Native Language (Language A)

Self-Taught Literature is available to students as a choice in Block 6 (the self-taught programme will be discussed with students at interview where an appropriate Language A is not offered as a taught programme)
Group 2: Language Acquisition (Language B/Ab Initio)
Language B courses are for students with experience in the language, for example, a student studying French B is likely to have completed GCSE French. For Ab Initio languages, students can expect to be beginners. For Ab Initio Spanish, the student must not have taken any other Spanish qualification.

Group 3: Individuals and Societies (Humanities)

Group 4: Experimental Sciences

- Nature of Science (Standard Level course)
- Sports Science
- Environmental Systems and Societies (Standard Level course) can also be chosen in Group 3
Group 5: Mathematics
Both Maths courses can be chosen at either Higher or Standard Level.
- Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches (this course is intended for students who wish to pursue studies in mathematics at university or subjects that have a large mathematical content)
- Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation (This course is designed for students who enjoy describing the real world and solving practical problems using mathematics)
Group 6: The Arts (and free choice)
In Group 6 students can either pick a subject from the Arts, or pick a second Science, Languages or Humanities option. Self-Taught Literature is available to students as a choice in Block 6A (the self-taught programme will be discussed with students at interview where an appropriate Language A is not offered as a taught programme). Students selecting Self-Taught may also choose a subject from 6B.

IB Careers Programme: Subject Information
Students on the IBCP pathway will follow one Career-Related Study and usually TWO IB Diploma courses. They also have lessons in the CP core: personal and professional skills, service learning, the reflective project and language development. These elements are assessed internally but must be passed for a student to pass the IBCP.

At Impington International College students can choose from the following Career-Related Studies, which are 120-credit BTEC National courses:
