Thursday 2 May for 10 weeks

Brief Description:

Barre4Strength is a fun, effective, ballet-based workout that will help you build a strong and lean physique.

Barre moves are based on classic ballet positions using movements which work to give you greater body awareness, improved flexibility and improved muscle tone. The aim is to build lean rather than bulky muscle.

You will add resistance to the workout by using hand weights and bands.

You do not need any dance experience or have a ballet background.  All welcome.

If necessary, please speak to your GP before embarking on a new exercise programme. It is advisable that anyone with serious injuries consults their GP or physiotherapist.

PILATES - MIXED ABILITY (tUESDAY @ 6.30PM)

Tuesday 30 April for 10 weeks

This course is suitable for beginners and those who have Pilates experience.  Pilates can help develop core strength and stability.  Improve mind and body awareness.

Different level options are given for the exercises, from easy to more challenging, to suit different level abilities.  The exercises can also be altered to suit your body better.

This exercise class is easy to learn, fun to do. It is a combination of the best known and most popular Latin and Ballroom dances.  The dances are combined with

proven fitness techniques to make every class a real workout and strictly fun.

You will learn steps and movements of the following rhythms: Jive, Cha-Cha-Cha, Tango, Samba, Waltz, Salsa, Paso Double

Learners do not need to be able to dance and you do not need a partner.

We will rest and breathe deeply, warm up the body then move into classic yoga poses and sequences to strengthen and open the body. You will learn the shapes and alignment within the poses. The session ends with a short relaxation.

Yoga improves posture and promotes easier movement. You also build more self-knowledge as you work with your body. Yoga keeps the spine flexible, the hips open, and the muscles long and strong. It also helps to calm and de-stress the mind.  Hatha Yoga is taught in this class.

Postures can be modified to suit individual needs.  Learners can always ask the tutor if they have any concerns.  If necessary, please speak to your GP before embarking on a new exercise programme. It is advisable that anyone with serious injuries consults their GP or physiotherapist.

It’s a friendly class beginning with warm ups and moving into linked classic yoga poses and sequences to stretch, strengthen and open the body. We will pay attention to alignment to keep the body safe. We end the session with a brief relaxation.

Yoga improves posture and promotes easier movement. You also build more self-knowledge as you work with your body. Yoga keeps the spine flexible, the hips open, and the muscles long and strong. It also helps to calm and de-stress the mind.  Hatha Yoga is taught in this class.
