DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY - LEVEL 1

Monday 29 January for 6 weeks

Brief Description:

Want to know more about digital photography and what your camera can do?  This course is suitable for learners who have already taken an introductory course and are ready for the next level.  Weather permitting, there will be some offsite photography.

You will have the opportunity to learn about:

•           Landscape Techniques

•           Nature Photography

•           How to take Portraits

•           How to prepare your images for printing

Course Aims:

Become familiar with the more advanced settings of the camera.

To have a broader understanding of lenses and their use.

Produce images of a reasonable standard and make minor edits to those images

Ready images for producing good quality prints

Extra Costs:

None

As this course involves some offsite photography suitable clothing for outdoor work should be worn.  Tutor will advise learners each week

What you need to bring to the first session:

Camera

Notebook

Pen

Memory Stick

If you use a laptop computer, it would be worthwhile bringing it along (fully charged).

 pHOTOSHOP FOR BEGINNERS

Thursday 1 March for 5 weeks

7.00pm – 9.00pm

£50 / £40 concession

Brief Description:

Learn how to change aspects of photographs to enhance the finished picture using the Photoshop program and its tools.

This course is suitable for beginners. A good understanding of using a computer is required.

Learners will have had the opportunity to explore the following techniques:

•           Using Layers

•           Using and understanding Histograms/Levels

•           Manipulation of images

•           Colour correction

•           Sharpening and Exposure changes.

•           Using Adobe Raw

Course Aims:

  • Introduce learners to the Photoshop programme and its tools
  • Understand how to enhance a picture using different techniques
  • Produce good quality images

Memory stick with images in raw format

Note pad

Pen
