Suzanne Cardy, (née) Adams, studied at IVC for a short period between 1986 and 1987. Her Dad's job meant they had to move away to Sudbury in Suffolk, where she still lives today.
She went on to complete all her GCSE's, stayed in sixth form, and studied Chemistry, Physics and Maths A Level, but didn't do very well. Luckily, Suzanne had already landed a job in the development lab of a wood finishing factory before she received her results. She worked there for 14 years developing paint, visiting customers, and enjoyed it immensely. Suzanne also met her husband there and left the company after having a daughter in 2007. She then started work again in the bar of the local cricket club. Seven seasons later, she now manages it!
Suzanne and her husband went on to have a son in 2010, who was born with cleft lip, so life has been an interesting journey so far. She has never forgotten her short time at IVC though and is sure the College has changed a lot since 1987!
A Piece of Advice
“Be brave, learn what you can, try new things, and you will get through it. College is really big and daunting after junior school and even though you may feel alone, everyone else in your year is going through it too. Stay strong and independent, smile and you can achieve anything”.
