Impington Village College providing ‘exceptional education’ according to SSAT

Staff at Impington Village College are celebrating this week...

as they have been awarded a highly prestigious accreditation from the Schools, Students and Teachers Network in two key areas of school leadership. IVC has now achieved ‘Transforming’ status in both Professional Learning and Leadership through Moral Purpose, securing its place as one of the leading schools in the UK in both these areas. IVC has been a member of SSAT’s Leading Edge programme for several years now, in recognition of its status as one of the highest performing schools in the country. In order to achieve the prestigious accreditation, the College was subject to two rigorous evaluation visits, one from a partner school and one from a Leading Edge consultant. SSAT's Chief Executive, Sue Williamson comments "for a school to be accredited for transforming practice is a real credit to their team and the quality of the work that they are doing."

The Award for Professional Learning recognises the outstanding CPD offer provided for all staff at IVC and the fantastic opportunities provided for career progression. In particular, it acknowledges the positive impact of professional learning opportunities on students’ outcomes and experience.  Despite a background of funding cuts and financial challenges, the College has retained its commitment to maximising opportunities for all staff, to ensure that they are well equipped to become experts in their respective fields.

Staff at IVC are most proud of the praise for the College’s commitment to Leadership through Moral Purpose, which recognises its highly inclusive ethos and positive culture. It was noted that IVC is a place where all students are welcome and diversity is celebrated, and that there is an unrelenting focus on supporting the mental health and wellbeing of the community. Similarly, the unwavering commitment to providing high quality provision, both inside and outside of the classroom, was highly praised.

Principal Ryan Kelsall said “as part of our commitment to being an IB World School it is vital that we deliver our vision to provide a world class education. We are delighted that the College’s commitment to all its community have been recognised through these prestigious accolades”.
