Impington Village College announces election results

On 13 June, more than 700 Impington Village College Year 7 – 10 students cast their votes for next year’s Student Leadership Team Executives in the first in-person student election to be held for more than two years.

In advance of the election, students, Rose S., Zante W., Nancy U., Natalia A., Marina B., Syed Raiyan A., Imogen E., and Leva A., took part in a series of Hustings and canvassing events to secure student votes, in an authentic representation of British democracy.  The winners of the election were announced on 13 June and Marina, Raiyan, Rose and Zante will take up their role as the Student Leadership Team (iSLT) Executives in September 2022.

During the coming academic year, the Executives will be in charge of leading the other members of the iSLT across three key projects, including:

  • Curriculum
  • Environment
  • Wellbeing

Chris Gee, Assistant Principal – Student Experience at Impington Village College, said: “It’s been wonderful for the students to be able to take part in the first in-person election for two years, and experience the rigour of the democratic process. The passion, hard work and dedication of the students involved has been inspiring and I am excited to see how they help us to continue to deliver exceptional student experiences at the College from September. I would like to extend my congratulations to this year’s winners, and share my thanks to our Sixth Form team which supported the Year 10 students in the election process.”
