The Histon & Impington Son et Lumiere – 10 Years On
In March 2010 the Histon & Impington Village Society put on a special Son et Lumière (sound and light show) in Histon Church.
This told the story of Histon and Impington over the centuries, from the earliest times until 2009. It told of village life down through the ages, performed by village actors in front of projected images, with dramatic lighting and pre-recorded sound, including the Romans, mediaeval life, the Pepys family of Impington Hall, the coming of the railway, the influence of Chivers, and two World Wars, ending with Histon FC (the Stutes) beating Leeds United in the FA Cup in 2008.
Now, 10 years on, the Village Society are presenting a 10th anniversary showing of the DVD of the Son et Lumière, this time in Histon Baptist Church. It will take place on Tuesday March 10th at 7.30pm. Tickets are available at £5 adult and £3 children, in advance from the St Andrew’s Centre Office or Daisy Chain, Histon, or on the door if not sold out.
