FITSTEPS (MONDAY)

Monday 18 September for 11 weeks

6.30pm – 7.30pm

Brief Description:

Fitsteps is easy to learn, fun to do. It is a combination of the best known and most popular Latin and Ballroom dances, designed by two of the best Strictly Come Dancing dancers and dance teachers in the UK, Natalie Lowe and Ian Waite. The dances are combined with

proven fitness techniques to make every class a real workout and strictly fun.

You will learn steps and movements of the following rhythems: Jive, Cha-Cha-Cha, Tango, Samba, Waltz, Salsa, Paso Double

Learners do not need to be able to dance and you do not need a partner.

If necessary, please speak to your GP before embarking on a new exercise programme. It is advisable that anyone with serious injuries consults their GP or physiotherapist.

This course will give Learners a basic introduction to Pilates.  No experience necessary.

Pilates can help develop core strength and stability.  Improve mind and body awareness.

Exercises can be altered to suit individual needs.  Learners can always ask the tutor if they have any concerns.  Some learners may also be advised not to do certain exercises.

If necessary, please speak to your GP before embarking on a new exercise programme. It is advisable that anyone with serious injuries consults their GP or physiotherapist.

We will rest and breathe deeply, warm up the body then move into classic yoga poses and sequences to strengthen and open the body. You will learn the shapes and alignment within the poses. The session ends with a short relaxation.

Yoga improves posture and promotes easier movement. You also build more self-knowledge as you work with your body. Yoga keeps the spine flexible, the hips open, and the muscles long and strong. It also helps to calm and de-stress the mind.  Hatha Yoga is taught in this class.
