Science and Additional Science

2 GCSEs will be awarded, Science and Additional Science. The year groups referred to below give details of the courses that the current years are following.

 

Year 9 and 10

Year 11

Year 9 start the year with a bridging unit between KS3 and 4. We then concentrate on experimental and analysis skills and this leads into the start of the AQA Science A and Additional Science courses.

 

Students will be awarded the Science GCSE and the Additional Science GCSE at the end of Year 11. The exam board that we are following is AQA and each GCSE requires

  • 3 examinations (1 each of Biology, Chemistry and Physics sat in the Summer Term)
  • 1 controlled assessment module.

Science A

Additional Science

Year 11 are following the AQA Additional Science course. If students have not completed the AQA Science course then they will do so during the year.

 

At the end of Year 10 students were awarded the Science GCSE and at the end of this current academic year will be awarded the Additional Science GCSE.

 

The exam board that we are following is AQA and the Additional Science GCSE requires
