General information and recent successes

Provision within the Arts at IVC is nationally renowned. Our performances - staged both on site and further afield - have frequently been described as 'professional standard' by theatre industry personnel as well as practitioners within education. A group of gifted and talented students from Years 9 - 13 recently performed a piece of dancedrama at the Birmingham ICC as part of the Secondary Schools Annual Conference, and were noted by the celebrity guest speakers for their 'phenomenal' achievements. A smaller version of the piece - entitled 'Together/Alone' - has now been selected to represent the East of England in U:Dance, a nationally acclaimed dance event at the world famous Royal Festival Hall in July.

Our annual Christmas Show meanwhile brings together the work of the three departments with an integrated and inclusive spirit, and has for the past two years involved over 225 students on stage and as part of the technical team. Artistic events and productions, examination performances, gigs, contests and concerts are always greatly anticipated and enjoyed by the College and its local supporters around Cambridgeshire; there is a unique variety and quality of content.

Once all examination performances are over, watch out for 'Romeo and Juliet' at the Mumford Theatre on 17th and 18th July. This production involves a Company of 60 wonderfully dedicated students, and promises to be extraordinary in its bold and touching interpretation of this classic play.
