Languages at IVC

As one of the first Specialist Language Colleges we are very proud of the range of languages on offer at IVC. From Year 3 in each of our partner Primary Schools French is taught through songs, rhythm and rhyme.

All our KS3 students study French and Spanish with the opportunity to choose from French, Spanish, German or Japanese at KS4. Our expertise in languages gives our students an advantage and leads to further study as part of the IB where it is possible to study French, Spanish, German, Japanese and Russian. 

We believe that communication is key to language learning and offer many opportunities to enrich the learning experience through fun activities in lessons, extra-curricular study and visits and exchanges.

Monolingualism is no longer an option in the modern world as everyone at IVC knows.
